I’ve lived in my small apartment for about 7 years. When I moved in, I hired an hourly interior designer and ended up with a jewel-toned, moody living room that I do genuinely love.
The issue is the seating. It’s a sofa with accent chairs, and over time it’s started to feel a bit formal for how I actually use the space. Most nights I’m watching Netflix with my 9-lb pup, having friends over for drinks and movies, or taking the occasional nap.
Lately I keep wishing I’d gone with a sectional instead. I want something more lounge-friendly, but I’m worried it might make the room feel less curated or designed.
Has anyone switched from a sofa + chairs setup to a sectional and regretted it? Did it make the room feel less polished?
