Hi guys , I’m fairly new to the game and have yet to try a proper/serious bordeaux . Came across this right bank Bordeaux and heard great things about the 2016 vintage from the likes of wineking (the youtuber ), so I figured I should give it a try and boy am I impressed !

I think 10 year is a pretty good drinking window for this wine. The aroma of cherry flavors was very outstanding on the nose. Palate wise , it had soft tannins, nice acidity , a hint of sweetness on the finish and very likeable savory minerality . I suppose this would be the terroir experience that people have been talking about?overall very layered yet balanced wine, for 20+ usd I think I’m going to buy one again

Anyone familiar with this estate? I will quote what Gemini told me :

Chateau Franc Bigaroux is widely considered a hidden gem . It’s vineyards are tucked right next to superstar neighbors like Chateau Pavie and Chateau Canon la Gaffeliere , you are getting a similar profile to estates that cost 300+ for a fraction of the price.

What do you guys think of this Chateau? Was it the Chateau or the vintage that made the wine shine?
