Hi everyone, I would love your creative eyes on this space.
This is my south facing family room that opens to a backyard and rolling hills. The natural light is beautiful and I am trying to lean into that.
My style is clean modern minimal but warm. I am drawn to California modern and Mediterranean influences, maybe a subtle touch of farmhouse but nothing heavy or overpowering. I prefer open breathable spaces and often leave my walls empty because I do not love artwork on walls. I want this to be my peaceful sanctuary that I can unwind or start my mornings listening to birds outside
The plant, lamp, and lounge chair in the photo are AI mockups so I could visualize proportions and layout. I am planning to buy a real plant today, but before I commit to the plant, lamp, and chair, I would really value feedback.
Does this direction feel elevated and cohesive
Would you change the type of plant, the chair material, or the lighting approach
Is there a way to make it feel more architectural and less staged.
Long term, I plan to replace the floors with light oak, which I think will warm the space significantly.
