New house and this space is my office (WFH). It gets all the afternoon sun and in the summer, it can get warm up here (no AC). previous owner installed these green roller shades. I am painting the room and don’t want to look at these green shades anymore! Would you replace the shades with a beige (IKEA) or would you remove and replace with curtains? Windows measure 27×55 so I would need a curtain to sit above the radiator. I don’t really have eye for what would look best.

EDIT: new wall color is soft sage by SW

For sure shades than can also pull top down.

Shades but see if you can find light filtering so you get the light but not the heat

Roman shades, exterior install, subtle pattern like a taupe/rust/terracotta + cream stripe or something botanical. Not curtains, it’ll be way too much fabric for that long line of windows. Roman shades will look lovely along the top.

  4. Romans or top-down-bottom-up shades, depending on what you like. Curtains don’t really work here because there’s just not enough space on either side of the windows for them to fully open.
