So I have a little desk nook in my apartment and my boyfriend and I set up the shelves a while back— these shelves have been the bane of my existence since we set them up and I’ve no idea how to make them not look ugly. Any recommendation is helpful!!!

I think just just too many shelves in a small space. I’d probably remove two of them and separate the space with wall art.
