I just picked up this bean-shaped glass coffee table (Millwood Pines / Wayfair) off Facebook Marketplace.
It uses three independent black spheres as the base.
The problem: It is insanely wobbly. If I bump it or set something down, the glass acts like a seesaw and rocks back and forth. (Won’t let me put a video in this community)
Here is what I’ve confirmed so far:
• I have the three spheres arranged exactly like the Wayfair product photos
• The spheres are right-side up (flat machined spot on top) and have the little clear rubber bumpers holding the glass.
• It's currently sitting on a high-pile shag rug.
Is this table just inherently unstable because of the independent bases?
Is the shag rug causing the spheres to sink unevenly when weight is applied? Or is there a specific geometry/trick to placing these spheres under the glass that I am missing?
I really don't want to put ugly flat coasters under the spheres if I can avoid it. I love the look and I’m fine living with a wobbly coffee table, but I’d also love to solve this lol.
Any advice is appreciated!

You’ve already guessed a lot of the possibilities. It’s a dupe design so might just be made poorly. Fuss with it and see if you can get it stable. Keep adjusting the placement of the legs. Remove the rug and see if that changes anything. The nonslip pads under the glass might be too thick and too small.
I would get a screw in furniture feet set and put one underneath each sphere such that you can’t really see it but it keeps it from rolling. You have a round object on a flat surface, it wants to roll.
Consider: some kind of small foam ring (think like a toilet ring but not wax) placed underneath each ball. May be a cheap solution to help stabilize the table.
