I have this huge empty space inside my kitchen and am not sure what to do with it. I have a separate dining room with a big table in it & we normally eat in the living room. I don’t want two dining tables in my house that rarely get used. I’m hesitant to put in a couch or any fabrics because of the cooking smells. Any ideas?

I wish I could see more of your kitchen but would it make sense to make that the dining area and turn your dining room into something else like a den or office? Also if you thought people would use a sofa seating in there you could pick something that is odor resistant like high end fake leather.
Little cocktail or game room. Four velvet or leather swivel chairs around a table?
Built ins along the walls with desks that run across the window areas? Could be good flex space if you have kids that need homework areas or if you work from home
Bar or library
I’d put some translucent Roman shades on the windows.
