I just bought my first home and we currently don’t have money to renovate so I would like to paint the cabinets a Green colour and maybe change the hardware to gold… Any advice/suggestions please?

I wouldn’t paint the cabinets, I think the cabinets are the best part of your kitchen. If you want a temporary solution, I’d change the hardware do peel and stick tiles to hide the dated backsplash until a renovation is in the budget

My advice would be the same standard advice that’s always existed- live with it for a year and see if you still want to change it. Especially in this case since the change you want to do would be very difficult to undo once your tastes change. Plus, the real wood cabinets look awesome with that dark countertop. And gold hardware would go great with the wood stain.

I think the green will be outdated quickly. Maybe paint the walls instead?

I’d try black door handles and see if it makes the cabinets pop a little more.
All of the comments saying to keep the wood was very helpful for me as well. I was thinking of painting my cabinets but I think I’ll wait a year and just focus on painting the walls, as suggested. See if the feelings change.
