Hi all, I seek your wisdom. Keep in mind that this is a short term rental so not looking to make a huge investment here. The current curtains came with the place.

We have a problem of TOO much light entering the kitchen. If I were to get curtains, idk whether to get them all the same height or get floor-length curtains for the part that goes beyond the counter. Second problem is the slanted panels on top. Idk if to get them tinted or to figure out a way to install a rod that covers the top panels also. Seems like would be an eye sore. The vertical windows have a height of 54 inches. Appreciate any and all ideas.

If it is a short term rental I would not invest in new curtains. They are expensive. what about window film? If you do that on the top windows it will probably lower the amount of light a ton.

I’d get some great window cling film on Amazon. They have a ton of options and work really well.

When we were remodeling and needed privacy for our street facing windows, we put the film up and haven’t removed it, in spite of the room being done.

Sorry, to clarify, short term rental as in ~6 months. So not looking to spend several hundreds, but curtains and similar ideas is worth it.

Honestly I’ve stopped making design decisions without visualizing first lol. Too many expensive mistakes. I use Reni AI now – upload photo, see different options, pick what actually works. Saves so much money and regret.
