Serious expression of Auxey-Duresses Chardonnay, so fresh and pure. Coravin and consumed over 2 hours.

No reduction, which I have somewhat become almost too used to. Instead, this is all about intensity and layers of lemon, deep concentrated lemon, lemon peel. Over time a bit of white flowers. Pale to medium yellow, slightly cloudy, high acidity, medium alcohol. Very intense on the palette, continuing in the same lane as the palette, gritty acidity, lemon oil, great texture and simply a phenomenal length.

This is simply a great Auxey, and reminds me more about Ganevat e.g. Les Grands Teppes VV due to the electric intensity, the acidity and the lemon, than it does many other burgundies I drink. Cheers!

Nice notes. Chantereves is really impressing me with their wines. Such exciting wines. I’m drinking Drouhin Clos des Mouches right now, and it’s undeniably well made. But I can only think about how much more exciting these new wave wines are.
