Had this several months back. I did enjoy other bottles from Jean Foillard like Morgon or Morgon cote de py, but this one made me confused.
Nose: red berries + strawberry, then a savory turn into cigar/tobacco and mushroom
Palate: juicy red fruit, it also has some tertiary feelings like smoky, but not much, texture is clean
Finish: it drops off quicker than I expected. Not unpleasant, just a little bit short.
So I think it didn't strike me like other Jean Foillard bottles, which also makes me wonder if it's because the wine/myself was not in the right mood or wrong expectation?

I’ve felt this way about most ‘big’ Foillard (this, Athanoor). I’m not sure how I’d feel if I were given them blind, but they’re definitely odd experiences when you’re going in expecting Gang of Four Beaujolais cru.
