As far as I know the Bordeaux is not so great but the Rioja was a good pickup.
I guess perhaps some info I’ve learned on this journey (newer wine drinker as well), Bordeaux is more expensive so for a good one be prepared to drop like +$50 on one (assuming you live in the US, I see the importer tag in the Rioja). I personally don’t like “cheaper” Cab Sauv and those type of blends, so I steer clear unless I’m willing to drop $$$. I will tell you I LOVE a high quality complex Bordeaux blend but different folks different strokes
As for the Rioja, not sure haven’t gotten into them yet but a quick search seems like it’s a solid one! I always like a good American Pinot (I prefer Oregon cool climate vs riper Californian ones but again that’s just preference). Usually you can get a solid Pinot for like $30
