Believe it or not, Oven, an Indian restaurant in Lincoln, Nebraska, sneakily has one of the best wine lists in the country. Global selection with lots of aged wines, nearly 10K bottles. And, best of all, the prices are very reasonable, some of these wines are cheaper than retail. Don't believe me? Check the list.

The sommelier and wine manager, Pratik, is fantastic and a very nice guy.
My travels took me to Lincoln and I had a work dinner elsewhere, but Pratik was kind enough to spend some time together and we shared some wine, including this very special bottle. It's great to see more Desis involved in the wine community.
Now, some notes!
2021 Staglin Cabernet Sauvignon Premiere Napa Valley
First time truly trying Staglin (not including walkaround tastings) and it is a wonderful wine.
In contrast to the flagship Staglin, this special edition is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
BTW, the only place you can have this specific bottling at is Oven!
Incredibly young wine, but a truly enjoyable experience.
Gave this an hour of air in the bottle, then enjoyed it in the decanter over the next hour.
Tannins still pretty grippy, but lots of swirling allows this to open up nicely.
Dark cherry, dark plum, blackberry, graphite, pencil shavings, eucalyptus notes. Maybe even some dark chocolate and cinnamon.
Plus it has that classic Rutherford dust.
This is a very complex wine with layers and a long finish.
Very grateful to have the opportunity to enjoy this, I look forward to trying it again in a decade!
93+ points.
