We had bought this bottle out of curiosity and also to show to people who attend our sessions that Japanese varietals such as Koshu are making it abroad. But instead of just using it as a prop we opened it after we closed this Friday.
If you have had koshu, you know it is very delicate and light. Most might even come off as a Pinot Grigio. But this one, WOW. I would never had pinpointed this as koshu.

In appearance it was almost green, and the regular florality that you get with koshu was gone. Still trying to process this.

Tasting notes: Minerality, but heavy grass, light grapefruit, and a finish of juicy pear.
Nose: light sherry, marzipan, and green apple.

This was very interesting and so cool to see what can be made with this grape if grown in a different terroir.
