Please take these notes gently as this is my first time. I have been coravin-ing these two bottles over the past week and thought I should sit down and write something.
Both were tasted with roughly 15 min in the glass.
2022 Sylvain Pataille Marsanny
Color: Very slightly more brick-ish / rusty in color
Nose: Strongly perfumed. Mushroom, wood, cedar, barnyardish?
Palate: Lots of acid, more muted compared to the Patricia Green, I struggled to identify specific flavor notes. In cellar tracker i see savory tomato and cherry referenced a lot, and i could agree with this, but this may just be because the notes were planted in my head.
Finish: Short
2023 Patricia Green Estate
Color: More pale ruby
Nose: Strawberry, blueberry, much lighter on the nose.
Palate: Acid, strawberries, pomegranate, fresh, bright
Finish: Longer finish, lingered for some time.
These two bottles are at slightly different price points but thought it was interesting comparing two very different styles from new and old world.
The Patricia Green was a $20 USD berserker day offering and the Sylvain Pataille was ~$50 USD.

Love Pataille. Reds are good but the whites and roses are where it’s at!
I love red burgundy and love Sylvain Pataille but I found this specific wine to be disappointing. I have had lots of others from him that have been great but I bought 2 of these expecting greatness and they were both meh.
Thanks for the notes!
