Any ideas on how to upgrade my bedroom? I’m not sure if it’s the rug, bedding, the metal wall art or wall color that need to change. I dislike the flooring so I was thinking of getting a bigger rug to cover more of the floor.
Add some color! It’s pretty drab. I think you can keep your bedding, just add an additional quilt or duvet (try a stripe!), a few pillows that match that additional duvet, and maybe a couple in a solid color.
The metal art above your lamps is a bit industrial. Maybe find one large piece of art & hang that on the wall above your headboard.
Plants are always good too.

The headboard looks much too narrow like a different size than the bed… The metal art does look tacky. Try some prints there instead Also the lamps are too little and the long pillow thing looks like a slug
