Don’t mind the round rug on the floor, it’s old. My daughter insisted on having her bed in the corner, so I worked with it… My floors are being refinished, carpet removed. I found a rug that I love. It’s blush and cream. Notice the vent under the window. It’s a queen sized bed.
The 8×10, perpendicular to the bed- the 8’ side would go almost to the headboard, and up to the vent edge, coming out pretty far in the room leaving about 2’ of space on the opposite wall. The 5×7 seems too small?
What size rug would you use and where would you place it?? I don’t want to screw it up!

Here’s the rug I was thinking of?
I’d personally go with the **8×10**. With a queen bed, a 5×7 just ends up looking too small and a bit lost.
I’d place the 8×10 perpendicular to the bed and slide it under the lower 2/3 of the bed, not all the way to the headboard, and keep it clear of the vent. That gives a nice amount of rug (about 18–24 inches) to step onto and makes the whole setup feel balanced.
That layout usually looks the most intentional with a corner bed like this.
