I opened a 2019 Sebastiani cherryblock that was a little young, but the nose screamed of black cherry, currant, wild flowers, and blackberries. Initial palate was fruit forward with strawberry jam and blackberries. 30 more minutes in the decanter and it opened up a lot. Had hints of raspberry that turned into a smooth jam. Had some dark cherry and over ripe figs.

Switched over to a 1997 Elyse Syrah from Napa Valley. The color was straight Chicago brick! Palate was dry berries, blueberries, a little maraschino cherry.

Palate was velvet, some blackberry, light chocolate, and little dried plum.

After dinner poured my stepdad a graham 20 year old port that had a beautiful brick color.

Poured my mom a 2016 Chateau Suduiraut Sauternes. She’s never had a Sauternes before and she absolutely loved it.
