A very fun thing I tried at a tasting last night!
Fortified Syrah from Sonoma! Very interesting. At this age the Syrah character is super apparent even beneath the sweet fortified flavors. There’s a lot of pepper and a botanical edge to the nose, along with the usual prune and chocolate notes. The palate has a lot of freshness to support the weight of the wine.
Just an interesting bottle I thought I’d share. Limited release, and less than 250 cases made. Always nice to talk about small producers instead of the industry giants 🥂
