For your consideration, I present you my closet cellar. it measures about 5'x5' with 9' ceiling. Total capacity is right around 400 bottles. Current capacity is like 300. Our inventory management sucks.
Lots of Cali cabs, some Pinot noir, cab franc. Very few whites Not nearly enough champagne as that goes fast in my house. Though we have a couple P2s tucked in there and some solid grower bottles in there too.
It's a messy cellar with beer and ciders and odds and ends in there too. Cedar construction, double stack of foam insulation in walls and floors. WhisperKool vents into a bathroom bc we live in the South so no basements and venting outside or into crawl isn't an option. Bathroom gets about 10° weather in summer. we keep cellar at 59°F.
