Today’s offer from Last Bottle!

Has anybody had this wine? Couldn’t find any real reviews of this exact bottle or their PV.

I love petit Verdot and find it hard to locate good quality bottles for a decent price. Feel like it’s just not as popular these days. Hoping I could get some validation on this and pull the trigger!

Thank you all in advance!

You’re right in noticing it’s not very common, and it’s because it’s very difficult to make Petit Verdot as a quality wine. It needs a long growing season with high temperatures to really develop and it doesn’t commonly do that in Bordeaux, so it’s used in very small quantities in a blend, and even in places where it could grow well, it’s still often done that way. Here in Texas we do Petit Verdot pretty well, and I had a neat example in Arizona also. The Southern Hemisphere’s warmer areas are doing well, and I imagine Paso Robles and warmer Napa areas can succeed. Most of the time that somebody is attempting to make it as a varietal, I would assume they’re doing it because they think it will work, but if you get a bad example, I imagine it will be *pretty* bad.
