So, these curtains in the picture are the ones I want to buy. They already have the waves sewn into them, so no matter what width you take and how wide they are, it is always the same waviness. However, if my rail is 3.80 m wide, should I take 2 x 2 m wide panels, so in total 4 m, or should I up it to 2 x 2.60 m and get 5.20 m of total curtains for my 3.80 m wide rail? I can also get 6.40 m wide curtains in total, which would be 2 x 3.60 m wide panels.

For a 3.8 m rail, 4 m total will probably look a bit flat.
5.2 m is okay, but if you want that nice full look like in the photo, more width helps with sheers.
I’d personally go around 6.4 m total if your budget allows — it’ll hang better and look more finished.
