Made by carbonic maceration, where the winemaker blankets the whole grapes with carbon dioxide and allows the selected microbes that grow in that environment to ferment the whole grapes, causing them to burst. After roughly a month, they press the grapes and remove the solids and allow the fermentation to complete in steel tanks.
The producer is from Southern Slovenia, where marl (clay rich in minerals) is the makeup of the soil.
The varietal is Blaufränkisch which is grown in Central Europe.
