We have light pine doors, so the furniture in the room would continue the pine/light wood theme. I've been searching for a rug that leans bolder with pops of different colors, but not sure if it's best to find something more "calming"

Someone on here once commented that parents are designing nurseries for their aesthetic, not kids aesthetic, these days. I think about that a lot! I think this is a great way to build in some fun color without being overwhelming.

I like it a lot and don’t think it’s too much!! I had my first baby 6 months ago and would just recommend that you strongly consider how washable the rug is. I have no idea what material / construction this rug is… but at some point your baby is going to spit up on it, and you might regret buying a nice rug that can’t be easily cleaned. Machine washable, ideally. And congratulations on your baby!

The rug in itself is a beauty.
But I would not recommend it for a baby room. Simple reason being maintenance. Babies will have all kinds of spillages. Food, pee and a lot more that I will refrain from mentioning. Cleaning all that from this rug will become a nightmare and if not done properly, it will start smelling. I am saying this from my customers’ experience who have pets and babies.
