Hey folks! 👋About to spend a full month in Sicily, a country which we know fairly well by now, and we will be doing some wine tours for research of potentially importing for our shop too.

Of course, we have a nice list of some producers we are interested in … but thought why not ask the forum to see of anyone missed out ? 🙂 Always good to get some new tips!

We are mainly looking for Etna producers making wine WITHOUT additions. Sure some familiar names will come out and mainly
interested to see if anyone has any unknown gems too.

Alessandro Viola near Alcamo. Awesome wine. His brother Aldo also makes wine, the few of which I’ve had have been very good, but I’m not as intimately familiar and uncertain about 0/0 status. Considering he’s imported by Rosenthal, it would surprise me if they were 0/0, but you never know.

Okay so as many REGARDLESS GREAT producers being suggested which are not Zero/Zero (anymore), our list so far includes

    Etnella (most references)
    Vino di Anna (most references)
    SRC ( I think all)
    Giandini Coleringer
    Malandrino

Any others people have in mind?

  4. Fabio Signorelli make some very, very nice wines!

I realize it is not near Etna but if you end up in southern Sicily, Cantina Marilina is worth checking out. Not sure on the 0/0 though…

We love Vino di Anna! I think she might use small amounts of sulfur dioxide, if at all, but not 100% sure of this. She is lovely and her wines are beautiful. Enjoy your trip! Would love to know where you end up visiting.
