I have lived in this house for 7 years and have never been able to decide how to decorate this long hallway. This space leads to 3 bedrooms, a garage, and a full bathroom. Any suggestions and ideas would be helpful. Our interior style is transitional- traditional.

Wall art. Maybe a very skinny console table.
ITS THE LIGHTING 100%
unless you address that first, nothing will improve the look..
It harsh white light, that washes out the color and creates unnatural shadows
If you can find a skinny console table and can put a lamp with warm light where that outlet is, that will
warm it up.

This is the end of the hallโฆ could a skinny table work give the way my daughterโs door opens?
A cooler lighting? Pendants or track lighting? Wall sconces? So many choicesโฆ.
Thicker rug, warmer colors.. console table with decorative mirror hanging over it (makes the space feel bigger), paint and a more decorative light!
I think that long rug accentuates the length. I would get a shorter, slightly wider if possible one, and end it just before the wall with only one door ends. Hang something on that same wall. If you want you can do something like this, connecting to your wall art by the door. Then you can do a regular sized rug in the entryway.

Small detail: your doorknobs should be identical.
Paint the single wall with the arched walkway a deep colour (indigo or even a hunter green) and use the space as a family photo gallery with black frames of different sizes and different textures/shapes (wood, metal, circles, long rectangle, small square etc).
