I recently received a fascinating request to design a piece of furniture—a bookcase, to be precise. We arranged a meeting so I could assess the space and take in the surrounding decor. Upon arrival, I was struck by their collection of mission furniture, which inspired me to let that aesthetic guide my design. They also had some newer high-end pieces adorned with marquetry.
