I had the pleasure of tasting a wine that I only dreamed about until recently: Maison Pierre Overnoy’s Ploussard 2015.

It needed time to blow off as we know too well there can be some barnyard funk with wine, especially natural wines. What soon followed was the purest expression of ploussard that I have experienced. The appearance was a pale pink-orange. Medium intensity on the nose involving red fruit (strawberry, cranberry) and flowers (roses). The body was light with similar red fruit and floral notes along with a touch of spice. Medium + acidity and medium – tannins with a medium finish.

Grateful for some new wine friends for bringing this to dinner. I also can highly recommend getting several wine friends to go in a bottle. In my opinion, it’s worth it. 🙏
