Why are american appliances so ugly? Most new kitchens (atleast in finland) have integrated fridges, dishwashers etc… and look so much better imo

Built-in appliances are about double the cost of free standing. The kitchens my company builds are integrated with the exception of the refrigerator in most cases. Instead we recommend a counter depth refrigerator and build it a paneled nook so it looks built-in.

I dont know, but stainless steel needs to go away. I love my white appliances.

There’s hardly anything different about any of these.

There is some of the clean (and at this point a bit boring) Nordic kitchen design. Which has nothing to do with appliances.

Beyond that, all that is “wrong” here is a giant steel fridge in an ugly, brown kitchen. But again, that’s the kitchen rather than the appliance itself.

All these stove tops and ranges in the thread look basically identical.

  4. Fwiw I agree with you as an American, appliances here are so ugly. I think it’s because it’s the land of the excessive lol. We’re doing a kitchen remodel soon and I wish we could afford an integrated fridge but we are compromising with a handless refrigerator at least! Absolutely hate slide in ranges though, so we will be doing a cooktop with build in underneath
