I’m curious about the toilet enclosure area. Could you have removed the walls to open up that space? Perhaps the walls are load bearing and that wasn’t an option. My bathroom has an enclosed toilet area similar to your 1988 version. I’d like to remove the walls as part of a remodel I’m considering.
