This is cool, but I don’t understand how stuff like this gets built when it’s full of code violations. No way the guardrails/handrails on either of those stairs are up to code. And it looks fairly recent so I doubt it was just grandfathered in.
If I was a code official and willing to be flexible since they’re doing something so cool, I’d still make them put a handrail on the outside of the spiral stair and some sort of guardrail on those small, high up stairs. Both seem like hazards.

Very cool and cozy. Love the ‘floor bench’ at the bottom of the bed idea. Can I ask where the larger rug is from?
That is just gorgeous. I love everything about it, except perhaps the stove surrounded by wood on all sides. But otherwise it’s amazing!
