we both want a pretty neutral kitchen, nothing too fancy or modern. we have decided on white cabinets and wooden butchertops. but she wants black doorknobs and silver appliances (sink and oven). i think that black doorknobs on white cabinets is too harsh and rustic. i think that silver doorknobs gives a better flow, and i love black appliances. i also think that a black door on the wineglass cabinet is pretty cool. what do you think?

Number 2 the black handles on the cabinets and the last cabinet with the glass make it pop but add the black sink from picture one to picture two

Do you live in a place that has particularly hard tap water? One of my friends bought a house with the same kitchen as mine and he went for a black sink and regrets it because of how much it stains the sink.
Other than that niggle I definitely prefer picture #1 to #2, but the handles on #2 would look a hell of a lot better on #1.
i think it looks very nice! with the black sink and black cabinet, the black doorhandles harmonizes better

I’d go silver appliances and handles, no black door on the one cupboard.

Builder here. I’m sure I’m going to get downvoted for this opinion. Ikea sucks. They are made out of paper covered in plastic. They are not cheaper than other cabinets. You only think so because you haven’t looked aroind. I absolutely unoquivically refuse to install them. They fell apart after 10 years of normal use in both kitchens I got forced into using them in. And yes, I glued all the corners. Anybody who’s installed more than 20 kitchens, prove me wrong.

Man, I cannot pull the trigger on a kitchen remodel. I’ve done a ton of these VR design programs and always come up with “meh”. My fear is if i spend thousands and months and wind up with a kitchen that just makes me feel like i miss my old familiar kitchen.
A remodel is a one-way journey without the option for a do-over.

I like her suggestion more but with your sink it would be perfect

this picture really wont give you any idea how it will look in real life
search on google things like “white kitchen cabinets black knobs wood countertop” and you will get a better general idea
it is really up to tastes so it is hard to say what is better, what i can say is that my eyes keep going over that black top cabinet, is kinda a punch in your face, silver sinks are nice, but you are going to notice every single water drop and scratch, they are hard to keep clean
black knobs over white cabinets are going to be much more noticeable and give a more noticeable accent, it will be more modern than silver knobs, silver knobs will blend more, will be more smooth and classic
It is really up to your taste tho, black and white is like the bigger contrast you can make, if that is what you are looking for it is nice.
