This is the first natural wine my SO and I had a few years ago and got us hooked. This hazy, ruby pinot noir is unlike any other pinot I’ve had.
It’s quite sour (not unpleasantly so) and a bit carbonic when you first open the bottle. After some time in the glass or decanter, it really opens up with delicious floral/rose notes while still keeping that sour red fruit flavor. Medium tannins balance really well with the fruit and floral flavors.
This goes down way too easily and I find myself drinking it way too quickly. Definitely worth a try if you’re able to find it. I think Meinklang recently released a newer vintage as well.

I love this wine, absolutely brilliant Austrian take on PN.

Is this line newish? I feel like until a couple vintages ago, you never saw Meinklang that didn’t have the cow labels. I’m guessing this style of label is a more premium line? Can anyone speak to how it compares to their regular cow label stuff (or to other Austrian producers)? I’ve only had that and I’ve always been *really* underwhelmed. I love Austrian wine, but I’ve never met a Meinklang I like. Is it worth trying the fancier stuff from them?
