100% Carignan. At 14.5% abv, this is definitely a higher alcohol than other roses I’m used to but it’s still rather refreshing. Aromas of strawberry, honeydew, and a bit of lavender. The flavor hits with balsamic and raspberry, and it finishes with a slight amount of savory minerality.

I usually associate Avi Deixler with heavier-hitting reds and this was very interesting side of his winemaking to experience. There are none of the usual tannins, spices, and deep fruits that I would come to expect from his wines. This still manages to feel like an extension of that, however, with the bigger mouthfeel and the strong, jammy balsamic flavors. This makes it not only rather unique among his own wines, but unique to most other roses I’ve had overall. Definitely recommended it you’re looking for a deeply flavorful and heftier side of pink.
