I have an 80’s ranch and the kitchen has had some questionable re-dos and DIY work in the past. I’m planning to redo the floors (already done in another part of the house), but I’m stumped on what to do with the cabinets and countertops. I’d love to get more counter space, but not sure what colors would work here. I’d like to keep the current wall color since it’s the same throughout the house.

I’d go with an airy green or blue cabinet if you want to keep the same paint colors.

I’d take down the wall(if possible) on the sink and dishwasher side and doing a long island like 11ft. It looks like the counter top there is about 10-12ft long right now.
Then you can do a 36in drawer + 33in sink cabinet + 24in dishwasher + 36in drawer. You can add an overhang so people can eat by the island and it will also increase your countertop space for prep.
On the other side where the fridge is. You can
* Have the uppers go to the ceiling. Maybe you can fit 42in cabinets?
* 36 in width fridge?
* convert your lowers to drawers
* See if your tall cabinet can be 36 or 42in in width. (Likely custom order)
***Shoot for the moon idea***
Get a wall oven and a stove top to increase the amount of drawers you can get

The door on the opposite end of the fridge. Where does that lead to?
