Kitchen ceiling suggestions? Retexture was original plan. Now we’re being told it will be a 50% match and will be noticeable. Now thinking of a short drop ceiling. Any other suggestions? Thanks!!

Note: everything will be painted white. Going for coastal modern look.

There’s no reason you can’t scrape and re texture. Shouldn’t be crazy expensive by any stretch.

Drop ceiling. For some reason they look great and tie the room together

You could literally remove the popcorn ceiling in the entire room and touch up then pay something to repaint the entire ceiling. Why not?

  5. Since you are moving beyond just repainting, think about a skylight, vent hood, and a good lighting plan

scrape scrape scrape, ditch the texture and just use ceiling paint. do it once, do it right.

Just get the whole ceiling redone. Textured ceilings really date a space.

It won’t be very expensive, especially in the context of a whole kitchen remodel, and it will make the entire space look much better.

We did oak slatted panels from Akupanel for our kitchen only. It was easier than drywall and looks very nice.

A word of warning textured ceilings often contain asbestos

Make a false ceiling window. LEDs with diffusing translucent plastic. Nice time around the edges. Will look the tits.
