Pale golden color.  Nose with aromas of beeswax, honeycomb, tropical fruits of mango and pineapple, rounded out by the garden of white flowers and wild grass. Palate showed bright citrus and sweet summery herbacousness, persimmon and dare I say a subtle smokiness of ginger upon a sturdy backbone of bracing acidity.  This was zesty, crisp and clean, medium + length, bracing acidity with a 13.9% abv, and a fine richness for subtly bigger mouthfeel. Great wine for a summer night BBQ, a day by the beach, pool or lake.

Given the name of the winery, this was consumed (responsibly) while listening to “Changes” by Charles Bradley

Grapes are organically farmed by Sarah Deanda of Deanda Vineyard in the Redwood Valley AVA.  The vines date back to the 1960s and are grated onto Carignan rootstock in sandy clay loam soils.   Due to a gap in the coastal ridge which funnels cool Pacific air through the valley giving the upland redwood Valley its diurnal temperature shift, leading to a progressive ripening of its complex, yet refined fruit.

The wine was foot crushed, macerated for one night, then juice pressed into neutral oak, where fermentation occurs on the lees for 12 months.  The wine is racked into a bottling tank for another 3 months, then bottled without fining, filtering, or addition of sulfites.
