100% Gamay, 100% Beaujolais. Ravera makes stunning wines in the South of Beaujolais, a very talented winemaker that works everything by hand or horse.
The nose opens on a classic VA note that makes the natural Beaujos, with notes of flowers and roses that ressemble Pinot Noir. The wine stays very fresh, light bodied and crisp, with a slight reduction at first that goes away in 20 or so minutes (decant it if you can). A light Gamay with a great texture and a nice complexity to it, it’s a carbonic maceration made properly. It’s easy to drink, great for a bottle with friends, without falling in the glouglou Beaujolais side. If you like the Ducroux and Metras style, Ravera is the place to go.
This cuvée is one of his basics that already show very well his great talent. He also does Vos Lettres Sont Irrésistibles (only in magnum) which is one of the best Beaujolais wine I’ve tasted, and that beats all the legends.
