    That looks sick af but I heard they don’t work that well

    The light can turned off. It will default to its last setting when it was closed. An overhead vent works better because it isn’t fighting gravity. I just happen to have a situation where an overhead vent isn’t feasible. Installed it with a 1000 CFM blower so it should do the job.
