Hi everyone!
I was planning on changing my kitchen countertops and was hoping to get some opinions on what would look good, and match well with the current cabinets and appliances that are in there. I’d like to eventually have a nice backsplash as well so opinions on that would also be much appreciated!
(Apologies if this isn’t allowed here)
Thanks!

r/kitchenremodel would be a good place to post as well.
I personally think you could pull off a black or dark gray countertop with those cabinet colors, but I understand that’s not for everyone.
Dark blue
Honestly, out of all things to change, why the countertops? They look fine. If I wanted to update your kitchen, I’d get stainless.
Stainless has proven to be a timeless appliance style. Cabinets…..depends on what you want.
I would update the appliances before the countertop. A single basin sink and stainless appliances would go a long way. The cabinets are great and you could just swap out the handles for something more modern, too. I know replacing all appliances is more $$$ than replacing the countertop, but unless your countertop is causing you issues, I don’t think it should be the first reno

I think black soapstone would look really cool in this space. I’d update the cabinet hardware to something with strait lines rather than curved.
White quartz counters
I don’t know but tell your cat I said pstpstpst
Hello, this is not the feedback you requested, but I mean it kindly. I think the combo of the cool light in the ceiling fixture and the blue walls is making it very cool toned, while your cabinets are rather neutral color. I think a low cost upgrade would be to get a bulb(s) that is a lower kelvin (warmth/color) and higher lumen (brightness). Something like a 3-4000 kelvin and 3-4000 lumen would be bright enough for tasks and warm enough to make help the overall feel of the room. This is a pretty cheap fix that could also enhance any new countertops. Also if you have a bulb meeting this criteria in a different fixture you could swap it out as a test run before buying a new bulb.
I’d actually leave the materials as they are and add some Moroccan tile backsplash. You don’t believe how much does a properly chosen backsplash upgrade the kitchen’s look.
Also repainting the ceiling to a warmer, perhaps lighter colour to match the tiles and overall tone of the kitchen.
But then again, it all depends on your style preferences. I personally like a bit of boho and warm tones.
I’d recommend you to take photos and photoshop different tiles and colors around to see if they feel good to the eye. If you find a good combination, you’ll save a lot of work and money by only doing a few minor changes.
Maybe cabinet handles could be exchanged too.
