The sound of people raining improves when it’s raining 2020 by Anders Frederik Steen Ardèche, France Bought from Discovery Wines in New York, $48 Imported by Zev Rovine Selections
My notes: It was raining when we opened this but it was too dark to take a video of us clapping in the rain. I was deeply upset. 👏ANYWAY! 👏 I was able to use my new decanter, and as time passed, it really became more fragrant. What could I smell? Poppers and pomegranates. My friend’s notes: It was the first cold weekend in New York; this was the perfect bottle. This explodes on the nose with deep, dark flavours: cinnamon bark, dark cherry, leather, and burnt rosemary. This tasted tart, like a pomegranate close to the seed. Poetry in a bottle?

Much like all of the Anders wines this one is really phenomenal!

I’ve found most of his wines to be pretty flawed, but I’ve had some nice ones a few times. Would be interested in this

I’ve literally only enjoyed one of his wines. I’ve found the rest to be kind of fucked up and nasty…and even the one I liked was still hella flawed. To each their own tho.

Some of his wines are completely undrinkable, some of them are just Ok. Nothing special. No idea how he gets away with pricing his wines so high

That decanter looks stellar, would you mind sharing where did you acquire it?:)
