The classic Poulsard from La Tournelle. As always, it was very reduced at the opening. After decanting for about 2 hours it started to open up on floral notes of roses, a hint of grapefruit skins. It still had a slight reduction and a rough finale that Poulsard doesn’t usually give out. After 3 hours it had opened up fully and gotten very supple, with a delicate texture to it. The nose was a little rose bomb, with hints of currants and still this zesty note that Poulsard’s freshness gives out. A silky and complex Jura wine, always a huge classic to have in the cellar. Having had the chance to taste a few older vintages, you can hold on to them without any issues.
