My wife and I did this 6 years ago after buying our first house. Basically just painted everything and covered the floor tiles with laminate. Hardly cost us anything. It was supposed to be a temporary thing lasting 2 years or so until we redid it properly. But… we had a kid and now it’s been 6 years! The laminate floors have obviously not lasted so we are now finally going to redo it properly. I’ll do another post with the plans soon.

Absolutely love it! The only thing that I might do down the road is to change up the door pulls. I might go with something funky in brass. But only if I got board and have the spare money. It looks beautiful!
