Ignore some of the mess, I didn’t feel like tidying before posting lol. I’m looking to improve my living space, making it more cozy/homey but also looking put together. I’ve always struggled with decorating, so I thought I’d come on here and see what ideas y’all have. I’m really open to any ideas on how to improve the space, whether it’s rearranging, adding things (furniture, rug, decorations, lamps, etc). I’ve kind of been teasing the idea of getting a rug, but tbh I’m not sure if that’s even the right move lol. Any ideas are appreciated!!

Some drapery that is mounted close to the ceiling and goes all the way across the windows would look lovely! I think a simple neutral color would brighten the space and make it feel bigger and will add some of that soft and cozy feel I get the sense you’re going for based off your throws and pillows. You can put some ties or curtain hooks to hold the curtains away from the door when you need but it’ll really make a difference. A rug eventually may ground the space more in a neutral that has some of your accent colors!
And I’d probably add a floor lamp in that corner by the sofa and window to add some ambient lighting.
Go bigger than you think with art and if you clear some of the smaller decor off the tv stand I think it’ll look nice but if it brings you joy keep it!
Is this a rental and if so, are you allowed to repaint? I love the sofa, but you’re drowning in a sea of grey with the walls.
What is beyond this space as you walk in? Everything is close to the front door, and I’m wondering if there is room to move everything further back a bit.
