I picked this up for about $80 more as an experiment, as I truly do enjoy cakebread and they were one of the vineyards that helped me get deeper into wine. I really had no expectations going into this bottle.
Bottle was too shoulder fill, and cork was fragile and without the Durand would have absolutely broken into three pieces, but was able to get it out without issue.
Upon pouring a sample, color was deep ruby/brick red, the center being a bit darker than the edge. Was happy to not see brown. Aroma out of the bottle was dark fruit (plum).
Upon sampling – you can taste dried red fruit and a faint spice. At this point, no tannins, and this is probably near the end, but still a pleasure to drink. This was much more delicate than I’m sure it was meant to be, but I will say – it still had flavor and was enjoyable. Body was medium, and finish lingered in a good way.
Very cool to drink this, and if I had the chance to buy it again, I would.

I just want to say – this really did mature beautifully.
