Cupboards? Backsplash? Countertops? Paint? Anything else? Feel free to get creative.

The first three pics shows how the space looked when I first moved in, before I brought in any furniture.

Since I moved in, I’ve made a few updates:

– updated the kitchen lighting

– changed the paint (not all the walls yet, more on that below)

– changed out curtains

What I’m still not sure about:

Paint – I’m a little uncertain about the new color I chose. Depending on the lighting, it sometimes looks more grey, and other times it has a baby blue vibe. I think maybe it could work if I had a clear design style, but since I’m still figuring out what I want for the space, it feels a bit “off”? I don’t have a specific style in mind and open to changing the paint color.

– I’m not a fan of the light fixture above my table (you can see it up close in the last pic).

Backsplash, cupboards, and countertop

– I’d love a farmhouse sink, not sure if that changes anything in terms of suggestions.

Overall cohesiveness/design in general. I could really use some help! 😆

I’m open to any ideas, not just what I called out, and I’d be super grateful if you all could be my Redditor interior designers!

Definitely a different backsplash, as for paint what exactly is your style interest? I know you said farmhouse sink you were interested in, that could be given off some good other ideas on farmhouse styles.

I’d change the backsplash countertops and hardware

The house we purchased has these same cabinets, but the overall warmer tones in the rest of the kitchen are much more complimentary. I think updating both the backsplash and the cabinets for now would make a huge difference.

Kitchen based on pic 4: update the backsplash (subway tile are classic), counters (all one level. The split level dates the space), hardware, non-grey paint. Pick a neutral or warmer tone paint.
