This is my first Morgon from Bertrand after having several of his Flueries, and it’s amazing too see Bertrand characteristics in a wine from a different Cru.

Nose:

Leans sour over dark for me. Sour cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry right away. Some rose petal in there too. There is this really cool alpine thing going on that’s hard to ignore. It reminds me of a snowmelt lake. Wet rock, still water, very clean, with that crisp mountain air behind it. Not swampy at all. Also a little herbal lift, like thyme or green peppercorn.

Palate:

Honestly kind of hits like red Gatorade. Tart, refreshing, a little nostalgic. Cranberry, pomegranate, sour cherry, and something like raspberry sour candy. It is super juicy up front but then pulls itself together with that mineral backbone.
