I used a satin trade paint, wood and metal to freshen up doors that haven’t been painted in over 16 years. I avoid gloss paint as I can’t stand the fumes in my house.

Anyway…I chose white paint but i do t like the look against the magnolia walls of my lounge. It’s now too harsh with a right white door.

Question: If I paint the door frame white too will this improve things? Frame is currently magnolia colour. Or could I paint door frame black to make a contrast? 👇👇

Also it’s only had one coat and I was thinking of returning the other paint can I have for a refund and getting a magnolia satin elsewhere. Can I just paint it over white ?

Thanks for reading it all and any useful advice appreciated

IMO you should paint both the door and the frame either the same as the walls, or a nice contrasting colour. If you paint the  skirting boards too would be the cherry on top, I think.
Right now, to me it looks like you meant to paint everything the same colour but didn’t finished it.

You could ask for the swatches of colours you like and check them out against the wall colour and then decide. But make sure the light is the same where you’re checking them as it will be in the door area, so you don’t get a surprise.

    Good luck!
