campo viejo reserva 2019

this is my fist time trying to express notes on a wine so i apologise if they’re not very good. on the nose it’s all dark fruit (cherries, blackberries) for me i wasn’t getting the oakiness. tasting it as well i was instantly hit with the same dark fruit with some dark chocolate aftertaste. very tannic and dry with a heavy mouth coating. after being open over 30 mins it had a less complex taste and became smoother as well as lightening those dark fruits. got this as a back up as i couldn’t find a monastrell today but definitely enjoying it. also had some wild venison sticks and local cuddys cave cheese.
