Our 3yo just upgraded to his first bed yesterday (upgraded from a cot) and we're struggling to configure his new room as now he needs all new furniture.

It's a small square room (2.6m x 2.6m). His bed is 98cm wide by 209cm long. His new wardrobe coming is 60cm deep by 125cm wide.

We see 4 different layouts to choose from.

#1: I like the position on the bed, my wife likes that the wardrobe fits the space between the wall and the window perfectly. What i hate is that the side of the wardrobe is the first thing you see when you walk into the room. It doesn't look as bad in the diagram, but the room is small and the wardrobe is quite imposing to see as the first thing.

#2: I like that it opens more of the room up for function play. downside is we have a power point that will be blocked, as well as a spotlight right above which will be blocked. wife doesn't like the idea of a half-cupboard stopping in the middle of the room. She thinks if one day the bed is removed the room will look weird.

#3: Possibly the favourite. I just don't like that it makes the room pokey. Wardrobe fits the space between the door and wall perfectly, but access isn't as intuitive as #2 or #4.

#4: Opens room up more. cons are the half-wardrobe issue

Happy for alternative ideas. Thank you so much
